Workshops and Courses

Background pattern

What is this?

Workshops and courses are part of the Befriend Co-Learning Network, creating opportunities to explore community-building approaches, grow relational skills, and practise building connection together.

Across the year, we offer a mix of short workshops and multi-session courses for people who are curious about community and connection. Each session creates a rich mutual learning environment, learning with our experienced facilitators as well as fellow travellers, and each listing shares more detail to help you sense whether an offering feels right for you.

Our signature offerings

We run a range of workshops and courses throughout the year. Click on each offering in the calendar below to find out more and register your interest.

About

Looking for a fun way to meet people in your local area? Give It A Go! is a free, welcoming community adventure taking place across different locations in the City of Swan, and in 2026 we’re bringing the fun to Dayton!

Each week you’ll have the chance to discover a hidden hobby, learn something new, share a laugh and connect with other local people in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. Whether you’re new to the area, looking to make new connections, or simply keen to try something different, everyone is welcome.

There’s no expectation to attend every week or to be good at anything. Just come along, have a go and enjoy being part of your local community.

What to expect

Every session is a little different, with a mix of social, creative and hands-on activities. Depending on the week, you might enjoy:

  • Board games and table games
  • Arts, crafts and creative projects
  • Guest presenters sharing new skills and ideas
  • Fun challenges and group activities
  • Friendly conversations over tea or coffee
  • Plenty of laughter and opportunities to meet new people

You can join in as much or as little as you’d like. Some people love trying every activity, while others are happy to sit back with a cuppa and enjoy a chat. Both are perfectly welcome.

What to bring

  • Yourself and a willingness to give something new a go
  • A water bottle if you’d like one
  • Your curiosity and sense of fun!
  • And if you have a game you’d love to share, please bring that too.

Morning tea, activities and everything else will be provided.
