Give it a Go in Swan

Try something new, meet new people and sweeten your social life

What’s Give It a Go all about?

Give it a Go is a fun, free travelling community adventure happening across different locations in the City of Swan! And this year we’re heading to Dayton!  It gives you a chance to discover a hidden hobby, sweeten your social life, and meet other people in your local community, all in a low-pressure environment!

After a successful launch in Brabham (2023) and then again in Caversham (2024) and Bennett Springs (2025), Give it a Go is proving to be a roaring success for locals. We’re looking at igniting this exciting series for another round in term 3 this year!  Regardless of where we’re located, one thing you can be sure of is that it always takes place during the school term, so whilst the kids are at school, you can swing by and give something new a go!

Connecting over an activity

Meeting new people can be a little tough. We worry about what to say, and if it’ll be awkward. Firstly, that’s super normal. We all feel butterflies sometimes! Secondly, we’ve learned that sharing an experience of some kind is a great way to facilitate conversation. Keeping your hands busy, bursting into laughter over your Jenga tower tumbling down, or learning something new, are moments that bring you closer to someone. They plant little seeds of connection.

Give It A Go is a great way to discover (or maybe even rediscover!) a passion whilst meeting new people! Give It A Go offers low-key activities that you can try throughout the weeks.

Plus, maybe you’ll get to see some of the same people each week, and the little seeds of connection could become a friendship or another friendly face around in your community!
