Workshops and courses are part of the Befriend Co-Learning Network, creating opportunities to explore community-building approaches, grow relational skills, and practise building connection together.
Across the year, we offer a mix of short workshops and multi-session courses for people who are curious about community and connection. Each session creates a rich mutual learning environment, learning with our experienced facilitators as well as fellow travellers, and each listing shares more detail to help you sense whether an offering feels right for you.
Befriending Within (BW26), 10-Week Embodied Listening Course begins in April, and expressions of interest are now open. This gentle introduction to Focusing offers a grounded, body-based practice of deep listening… a way to slow down, meet what’s here with more kindness, and grow trust in your own inner knowing. It’s especially supportive for changemakers, community connectors, peer support folk, and anyone longing for a steadier, more compassionate way of being in relationships and community spaces. Tuition is pay what you feel (by donation), with a $50 fixed materials cost, and places are limited.
As part of the enrolment process, you’ll be invited to a short pre-course taster session with Nicola, a chance to connect, explore what’s drawing you to the course, and get a feel for the learning space. Past participants have described the space as “safe and spacious… and I always felt very held”, and shared that “it helped me be more present… less reactive”, that they felt “gentler with myself… and that changes how I am with others”, and that it’s “a gift I can take into other spaces… a tool I can use to support myself, and support others.”
If you’re curious, you can download the flyer HERE, and/or submit your EOI online in the link below.
Course dates: Tuesdays, 7 April to 2 June 2026 (10 sessions) Time: 2 to 5pm AWST (Perth), 4-7pm AEST (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) Online: Zoom Materials: $50 (fixed cost, incl GST) Tuition: Pay what you feel (donation). Full value $1,100 (incl GST).

Reimagining new possibilities for how we live as communities, together.
What is the Possibility Fellowship?
The course aims to offer an embodied understanding of how communing and the quality of our relationships is the foundation of community. It hopes to nourish our individual and collective capacity to adapt to the ever-changing complexities of life, finding new ways of living together that are enlivening for us all.
Is this for me?
Yes, if you….
Wish to connect more deeply with yourself and with others
Are at a crossroads in your life and looking for new direction or inspiration
Are active in community, supporting marginalised groups or advocating for change…
Are seeking to find and nourish your own voice and calling, be it in the domain of policy or politics, science or scholarship
What might the benefits be?
You are likely to:
Experience and deepen your capacity for ‘communing’ — showing up with one another with genuine appreciation and deep respect — as the foundation of community.
Make and deepen relationships within and beyond your Fellowship group, including with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Review your assumptions and perhaps see life and the world differently.
Gain confidence and inspiration for combining with others and taking meaningful action.
Play with the question “Who can I be with you, and who can you be with me?”
“Last weekend I finished the most amazing course I have done so far. Words would never be enough to express my journey throughout The Possibility Fellowship. The course was a story-filled exploration of what’s possible for me and my communities, for reimagining new possibilities for me, others and the world.” – Patricia Villa
“When I started I was in limbo. Do I walk back on the path I was going on, or do I try to find something different, something new? I learned that my community work doesn’t have to be grand, that it can start from the people all around me. The Fellowship experience gave me clarity about my gifts and confidence to give them.” – Leo Wu
