Please note: the final class will be on Monday 18th May 2026, and there won't be any further classes after that date.

So if you're keen to learn some valuable things and get your questions answered, now is your chance!

All classes stand alone, so you're welcome to join in as it suits 🙂

Are you struggling with challenges in your relationships with others - at home, at work, or with friends?

Or have you had a falling out with someone you care about, and you want to heal and strengthen your relationship with them?

Or maybe your relationships are going well, but you want to deepen your connection and prevent future problems?

If so, come and join our free weekly class - a relaxed community space to explore practical tools, fresh ideas, and real conversations that help you communicate more effectively and strengthen your relationships.

This group is also advertised outside Meetup, and regulars don’t RSVP every week. So don’t worry if you don't see many attendees below - there’s always a great group there!

What You’ll Get Out of These Classes

Each week, we’ll explore key principles, techniques and skills to help you:

✅ Communicate more clearly and constructively

✅ Encourage others to open up and communicate freely with you

✅ Prevent misunderstandings, arguments and fights

✅ Navigate and handle painful emotions without shutting down or blowing up

✅ Resolve practical problems, contentious issues and conflicts in your relationships

✅ Rebuild trust, heal and strengthen your relationships

This class runs every week and focuses on a new topic each time - you’ll always learn a ton of new things and have plenty of “aha!” moments!

You can use what you learn in any relationship context (partners, families, friendships, colleagues, networks) so it’s totally fine to come if you’re single.

No previous experience or skills are needed, and people of any age, gender and background are welcome 🙂

Please note: This class is not a form of therapy or counselling. It’s a community-based space for reflection, discussion, and learning practical strategies. If you're facing a crisis or needing mental health support, please seek help from a qualified professional or support service.

What These Classes Look Like

Each class is a combination of:

👨🏼‍🏫 Interactive presentations

📋 Real life examples and case studies

🗨 Group discussion and Q&A

🛠 Practical exercises and activities

The classes always provide a safe and supportive environment, while being casual and fun - it's an awesome group of people!

You’ll have a great time and learn a ton of valuable stuff, and you’ll leave each class feeling clearer, more in control and really happy you came 🙂

About Your Host

Hi, I’m AJ.

I’ve been exploring relationships and communication passionately for the past 20 years, and I’ve been helping people in this area professionally for the past 10 years.

Please note: The final class for 2026 will be on Monday 18th May and there won't be any classes after that. So if you're keen to learn some valuable things and get your questions answered, now is your chance!

Every class stands alone, and so you're welcome to join in as it suits 🙂

Over that time, I've built a huge base of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques, as well as developing a few systems and processes of my own.

I’m always excited to share what I've learned to help people transform their relationships and communication - and that’s what this class is all about!

I'm also passionate about contributing and having an impact. This class is my latest volunteer project, and I’d love for you to be part of it.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

I’m looking forward to meeting and connecting with you 🙂

🤗 Welcome to Befriending Within 2026

Befriending Within (BW26), 10-Week Embodied Listening Course begins in April, and expressions of interest are now open. This gentle introduction to Focusing offers a grounded, body-based practice of deep listening… a way to slow down, meet what’s here with more kindness, and grow trust in your own inner knowing. It’s especially supportive for changemakers, community connectors, peer support folk, and anyone longing for a steadier, more compassionate way of being in relationships and community spaces. Tuition is pay what you feel (by donation), with a $50 fixed materials cost, and places are limited.

As part of the enrolment process, you’ll be invited to a short pre-course taster session with Nicola, a chance to connect, explore what’s drawing you to the course, and get a feel for the learning space. Past participants have described the space as “safe and spacious… and I always felt very held”, and shared that “it helped me be more present… less reactive”, that they felt “gentler with myself… and that changes how I am with others”, and that it’s “a gift I can take into other spaces… a tool I can use to support myself, and support others.”

If you’re curious, you can download the flyer HERE, and/or submit your EOI online in the link below.

EOIs close Friday 20 March 2026.

Google EOI Form:
https://forms.gle/chB7nV6C4Rdj6zJH8

Course dates: Tuesdays, 7 April to 2 June 2026 (10 sessions)
Time: 2 to 5pm AWST (Perth), 4-7pm AEST (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane)
Online: Zoom
Materials: $50 (fixed cost, incl GST)
Tuition: Pay what you feel (donation). Full value $1,100 (incl GST).

Monthly Conversations with Purpose
Join us on the second Tuesday of each month for Cultivating Gratefulness Gatherings, where heartfelt conversations help us connect deeply, find meaning, and embrace grateful living.
Together, we explore themes such as discovering delight, embracing mystery, creating joy, welcoming imperfection, opening to beauty, awakening awe, and many other topics centred on positive emotions.
You’ll find resources and conversation tools to support intentional engagement, along with opportunities to share stories and learn from others in a warm, supportive environment.
Some months, we take what we learn and weave it into creative projects, and there are always heartfelt poems to share.
This is a welcoming space for everyone, where like-minded friends gather- a place where we foster a vibrant community by connecting with those on a similar journey towards a grateful life.

A warm welcome to those who are interested in connecting with a group of like-hearted individuals to develop a meditative practice in a supportive space. This group is suitable for people over 18 years of age at both beginner and experienced levels of practice. If you are new to meditation, Kelly will offer more guidance as you explore your unique journey.

About the host
Kelly loves encouraging people to develop a nurturing relationship with themselves. She is a registered and practising facilitator through Meditation Australia and has a degree in education with a special interest in supporting students at educational risk. She also holds a diploma in both holistic counselling and in coaching, mentoring and interpersonal facilitation.

What to expect
Classes are free and hosted at Gumblossom Community Centre in Quinns Rocks every Tuesday evening. Participants are invited into the room at 6:45pm. We spend some time connecting with each other socially before settling in for the guided mindfulness and mediation session. Unfortunately, participants will not be able to enter the room after 7:00pm as the meditation session will be underway. This is a safe, trauma-informed space and participants are respectfully requested to not consume alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or eat foods with strong aromas such as garlic and onion before class. Perfume or aftershave can trigger allergies for participants, so not spraying yourself before class is greatly appreciated. If you have allergies or a strong preference against particular essential oils, please make this known prior to class as an aromatherapy diffuser is used to enhance relaxation. We conclude the evening just before 7:30pm with an internal or verbalised gratitude focus.

Facilities
There are ample parking bays in the carpark, and clean bathroom facilities are available inside the venue. Participants are encouraged to use the facilities before entering the meditation room so we don’t disturb the space once we are settled in. It is a disability friendly venue with no stairs, but please let Kelly know if you have mobility requirements so she can ensure the class space is set up appropriately for you ahead of time.

What to bring
Please bring a water bottle, comfy clothes and a cushion if you find plastic chairs uncomfortable. You are also welcome to bring your own camping chair if this is more comfortable for you. If you would like to lay down, please feel welcome to bring your yoga mat; however, be mindful that if it is a full class, there won’t be lots of space to do this. The room has adjustable air conditioning and is pleasant during cool and warm evenings. Our body temp. can fluctuate during meditation though, so bringing what you need to make yourself comfortable is encouraged. Phones need to be turned off or on silent mode. If choosing to remove your shoes, please be mindful of class participants and ensure your feet aren’t smelly!

Booking
The class size is kept to a max. of 15 participants and bookings are essential. Please don't turn up to the venue if you've not reserved your space.

We look forward to meeting you and embarking on a journey of self-care together.

We are a friendly group who welcome and chat with new people as well as those we already know.
You do not have to attend every week but come as little or as often as you wish. There is always someone to have a good conversation with. It is a place to make friends.
Occasionally, on weeks when the group turns out to be large the host will direct a seat shuffle giving everyone an opportunity to chat with more than those people that they are seated next to. We are mainly youthful retirees but all ages are very welcome.

Pop Up Community Lounge – Wednesday's at Bertram

Every Wednesday we swing open the doors at William Bertram Community Centre and invite the community in for something refreshingly simple — a no-agenda space.

Just come as you are.
Pull up a chair and enjoy a cuppa, settle in for a chat, or browse the shelf and challenge someone to a friendly game. You might like to curl up with a book, meet someone new, or simply enjoy a relaxed moment in good company.

The Pop Up Community Lounge is a space to slow down, linger a little longer and connect with others from your community. The conversation flows, some days the games table fills up and other days people simply enjoy a quiet moment — and that’s exactly how we like it.

No bookings, no pressure, just an open door and a warm welcome.
Come along, go with the flow and see where the day takes you.

I started this group after taking early retirement as a way to get some exercise and meet more people with an interest in having a tennis knockabout. Bring your water bottle. I have a few spare racquets. We can have a coffee afterwards at Bridget's in the car park at the Social Club.

Hello there. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re out here looking for a new and exciting way to spend an evening, and that’s what we’re here to provide. Do you enjoy card games? Do you want to meet more likeminded people? Are you sick of me asking questions? Then let’s talk 😊

First thing is first… our names are Jordan and... well, right now, it's just Jordan. We’re here to hopefully bring together a nice little community of people who like having a nice social catch up with people who enjoy the same things, and enjoy having a laugh whilst playing unconventional (but also normal as well) tabletop games. We want to play some fun little card games with likeminded people, have a laugh, and quite possibly even make some new friends along the way.

We have discussed some games that we could play, and a good few of them are a bit unconventional, but absolutely fun. We will still have the normal games like Uno and other classic favourites, but we have other lesser-known games such as Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt, Love Letter (not as romantic as it sounds but you will still fall in love with it), and many others.

There’s a lot that we could say about the operations behind our game night, but we’ll just give a TL;DR version for those of you who are already fed up with the amount of reading you’ve done so far. This is what we have so far:

  • Time: 6pm-9pm
  • Day: Every Wednesday
  • Location: Ocean Keys shopping centre food court

If you think there’s anything that we’ve missed, please let us know and we will throw in that extra information. With all of that said, if you have any other questions, queries, suggestions, or just want to discuss things further, don’t even thing about hesitating to get in contact with Jordan (0407868818) by phone, or even send us a message on Meetup. We will do our absolute best to get back to you. Looking forward to hearing from you all, and looking way more forward to meeting you all in person.

As a side note - please confirm via a direct message if you are coming or not, as we’d love to know who's coming in advance 😊

This is not your typical craft group with set projects or expectations. It’s more like a curiosity shop of creating — a welcoming circle where women gather to share stories and mindfully explore whatever supplies are on hand.

A basket of donated and shared materials will be available to spark inspiration and you’re always welcome to bring along your own project too. There’s something quietly exciting about exploring together — discovering what emerges when we slow down, follow our curiosity and create side by side.

  • No perfection required
  • No experience necessary
  • Just a gentle invitation to connect

This is a blend of women’s social gathering and mindful making — a space to feel lighter when you leave, yet fuller from meaningful connection.
You'll find us upstairs at Darius Wells in the David Nelson Art Room (above the Kwinana Dome Cafe) 11.30am til 2pm
Please Note: There is a lift available

Future dates: Thursday 2nd, 16th & 30th April

Enjoy the meandering peaceful bushland and flat paths that are in Henley Reserve park and bushland with friendly locals!

Mostly shady and cool, there are two paths to choose: stay on the paved path near the basketball court and playground, ideal for people with walkers, prams, crutches and wheelchairs. Or, extend your walk with a venture into the bushland trail and enjoy the serenity of tree-lined paths. The bush trail is better suited to those who don't rely on wheels to move as in some places it is soft with sand, but mostly it is solid.

The full walk will take less than an hour to do.

Bring your hat, wear sunscreen and carry water.
The best parking is on Ringwood Loop. Meet at the basketball court for a quick meet and greet before moving on to the paved walk, followed by the bush walk for those eager to take on a little more of the walk.

Come along for a gentle stroll, enjoy the natural beauty of the reserve and meet others who love to celebrate the beautiful bushland of Kwinana or need a little inspiration to get mobile on an easy walking track.

Your group leader Kate looks forward to seeing you there!

Come and join us for the healthiest “sundowner” going!

Each week we walk/roll/stroll for 60 minutes. Keep an eye on the start time as it changes every few weeks according to the time the sun sets!

We use the sealed path returning as the sun sets. Due to current works on the path south of Burns Beach we head north.

There are benches with beautiful views to make use of so if you prefer not to walk the whole distance and or to avoid the big hill before we turn around! We will collect you on our way back. You are welcome to stay on after the walk to watch the changing colors of the sunset and for a chat.

  • We recommend comfortable shoes for walking, a hat, sunscreen and to bring water.
  • Dogs on a short lead (so that they can't cross to the other side of the path) are welcome.
  • Please stay to the left so as to keep the other side of the path free for oncoming traffic and for cyclists/scooter riders to overtake.
  • Should you see a snake (rare) stay back and wait until it slithers into the bush.

This event usually attracts around 10 people so don't think you are the only one coming. (Advertised elsewhere)

Gentle Somatic Yoga will meet every Saturday morning.
Gentle Somatic Yoga® incorporates slow, mindful movements that unwind long held, stress-based patterns and/or injuries. Therapeutic and corrective exercises called Somatic Movement Flows® erase chronic muscle pain and significantly increase flexibility though self-correction. In Gentle Somatic Yoga® we do not intend to stretch muscles in order to achieve results. Instead, we go to the root cause of all muscular pain, which is found in the brain, and reprogram habitual patterns of stress held deep within the body (Soma). Most of the Somatic Movement Flows® are performed on the floor with a yoga mat and a blanket or beach towel which is used as support for your head and as a covering if you feel chilled.

We are a happy group of “Yarnies” who make scarves, beanies, mittens, socks, gloves, knee-rugs/blankets and “fidget” items, which we donate to local aged care, homeless etc. We meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month, to share ideas and chats and add our completed items, to the “Yarnie bank”, or collect a fresh share of materials from the “bank”, to take home and make more. Generally we spend a fun few hours, with friends who have shared interests. You do not have to be the best needle-crafter in town, as there are many others happy to help, teach and give advice. There are no costs involved! Now isn’t that great? Not much is free nowadays!
We have small and large projects to work on and heap of yarn, just bring along your own needles/ hooks and mug for a hot/cold drink.

DADS!!!

This is for our dads out there
It's our chance - our time -to get out of the house - have a easy group talk so we can de stress from and Family matters that hurt us for a couple of hours and meet other dads going through the same feelings.

There are a few things we do to ensure everyone is ok with each other and that's

  1. it's just for dads at this stage sorry to mums and kids but it is what it is
  2. must be over age 18+
  3. Accepting of a pre screen call for location and everyone's general safety we don't want any conflict of interest between people. Call 0450835702 (Mon-Thursday)

If your ok with that we have a great venue with all really affordable snacks and drinks at a very family oriented location which if you do think to accept the pre screen call then our group location will be shared at that moment

it's simple, non judgemental and the best part it's simply free (no cost) except if you choose to buy your own food/drinks.

Dungeons & Dragons is a tabletop role-playing game where your child becomes the hero of their own story! Crafting their character, teaming up with friends, and diving into a world of endless possibilities. Plus, we'll teach them how to play the game every step of the way!

All Materials Provided!
No resources are required for your child to enjoy the game. Everything they need to dive into the world of Dungeons & Dragons will be provided by us. But if your child wants to bring their own character sheet we request that it is emailed to us to check over to make sure it is fair for the other kids they are playing with, there is also no internet connection available so we recommend physical sheets.

Adventure at Their Own Pace!
Our adventures are designed to offer flexibility, allowing kids to participate as their schedule permits. They can come and go as they please and continue their journey with us whenever they're ready!

Parental Involvement
A parent or guardian is required to stay during the sessions. While your child embarks on their adventure, enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and water in our designated relaxation area. Please remember to bring your own cup for refreshments.

What Should They Expect!

  • Unleashing their creativity as they create unique characters and explore fantastical realms.
  • Developing problem-solving skills as they navigate challenging quests and face cunning foes.
  • Building new friendships in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Learning valuable teamwork and communication skills as they collaborate with fellow adventurers.
