Social connection is so important, especially right now in the middle of social distancing protocols. We’ve put together a simple step-by-step guide to help you, or someone you know, navigate the internet to connect with online groups. We believe that a recipe for friendship needs three key ingredients:
1. Do an activity you love doing, with like-minded people who love it too!
2. Contribute and play a valued role in that group
3. Create rhythm and routine so you can see the same people regularly and strengthen your relationship
The internet is a great way to put these ingredients into practice, whether it’s over a love of fishing, coffee, crafts, animals, books, or anything in between, there’s an online group that shares those passions out there somewhere! This guide will prompt you, or someone you know, to think about the different places where we might find these groups, the kinds of things we might want to think about before attending, some helpful tips for video-chatting, and some online-safety points to consider.
