Professional Development Workshops

Does your organisation support people who are lonely or have few social connections outside paid support? If someone is lonely or isolated, it can be hard to know how to help them. After all, friendship is one of the most complex things we do as human beings, yet it's not something we're ever taught!

Befriend Consultants help you, to help the people you support, to have real relationships and experience true belonging. Our signature workshops combine theoretical frameworks and evidence-based approaches to develop community sector staff with the capabilities to support people experiencing social isolation and loneliness.  The workshops teach skills for helping people form natural relationships in their community, find and connect into local social groups, deepen relationships and stay connected using digital technology.

Our team have experience working with groups of residents in local communities, as well as staff and individuals who experience barriers to social inclusion due to disability, mental ill-health, age, homelessness and other forms of social vulnerability.

The workshops are designed for staff in the community service sector that are working in planning, coordination and direct support roles. Our skilled team will equip staff with practical methods and a structured approach for enabling people to have natural relationships and a true sense of belonging in their community.

See the workshops below for more information about our current packages. All workshops can be customised to meet the specific needs of your organisation.
