Join Nancy for a fun night of Valentines Theme quizzing and friendly rivalry.

Arrive at 6:30pm order your meal and settle in for the quiz which starts at 7:00pm and finishes about 9ish.

$16 includes dinner, quiz, lovely views and a few laughs. When you RSVP below, you are not charged. The $16 is payable at the bar when you order your meal on the night.

Volunteers from all walks of life get together to make re-useable fabric "Boomerang Bags" using recycled materials, to provide a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. The bags are given away to friends, family, colleagues, bagless strangers and so on, as a plastic bag alternative that can be used and reused, or passed on to others in need.

The bags create a platform to start conversations, make friends, up-cycle materials and work towards shifting society’s throw away mentality to a more sustainable revolution of re-use – one community, needle and thread at a time!

Thanks to wonderful donations from the local community, all materials are provided. BYO sewing machine if you would like to help out by sewing. No experience necessary, experienced sewists are available to help you if you are just starting out! Plenty of things for non-sewists to do as well.

Join Nancy and come relax with a picnic to the sounds of your favourite film tunes, orchestra classics, rock hits and musical theatre anthems - something for everyone to enjoy. This is a family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free event.

Bring a picnic to enjoy or order on online from Kent Street Deli. There may also be some food vendors at the event and it is near Rockingham beach cafe strip.

It will be a magical night of music under the stars at Romance on the Green featuring Perth Symphony Orchestra and special guests conducted by Jessica Gethin.

Transperth Bus Route 555 to the Rockingham train station will be extended to 10:30pm, operating on a 15-minute frequency.

Nancy will be wearing a yellow scarf, have a yellow Befriend flag and will meet you between 5:30pm and 5:45pm. This is a big event so please leave lots of travel and/or parking time. Nancy will update the comments with details about where to meet.

Meet on the coastal path outside the cafe. Look for the "Befriend" flag. Wear comfortable shoes for walking. We will walk/roll for 30 minutes south of Burns Beach and then return as the sun sets. If you don't want to walk the whole distance there are plenty of benches with beautiful views to make use of. You can join us again on our way back. Generally we will walk regardless of the weather. As someone dear to me used to say: "There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing".

Come along and join in our social sewing group, meet new people, start or finish a project, mend something or just have a chat - from beginners to intermediate sewers.

Sewing machines can be provided (up to 12) so bookings are essential (and just very helpful for us too)

Please bring:
Sewing kit (scissors, pins, needles, cotton etc)
Fabric and a project
$1 for tea and coffee
And a friendly smile

For the beginners, please bring along a couple of metres of material to make your own tote bag. These aren't sewing lessons, but there are some very friendly advanced sewers there, including host Katie that can help you :-)

Creche is available for $3.70 per child, per hour. $3.10 per sibling, per hour. The creche must be booked prior by calling ph 9236 4320 for the Wellard Community Centre Creche.

Then come and join Befriend at Armadale Library, located inside Armadale Central Shopping Centre fortnightly on Thursdays commencing August 30th. 9.30 - 11.30 am

Calling all ukulele players and lovers - whether you are an experienced player or always wanted to give it a try - head down to the John Wellard Community Centre in Wellard, and meet Paul and other uke lovers for Uke Club!
Paul will have ukuleles for those who need one or you can bring your own.
This group will meet every Thursday morning at 9.30.

Now that summer is on its way back, it's time to get out in the beautiful outdoors for some fresh air and exercise for a healthy mind and healthy body. Tomato Lake is an easy walk on concreted pathways the whole way around. People of all abilities very welcome. Walk at your own pace, and make new friends or renew acquaintances.

Meet at 4pm in the Oats Street Car park near the children's playground. Walk will commence at 4:15pm. Sandie will be there with the Yellow Befriend flag.

Held at Holmes & Co, we have an intimate crew of people to help support, and inspire you to play music. We run a round robin style, where each person can play a few songs (original or cover), or perhaps pair up with others to play a song together.
